Clarksville ISD, Goodside Health Partner to Bring In-School Telehealth to Students

CLARKSVILLE, Texas Clarksville Independent School District has partnered with Goodside Health to bring in-school telehealth and COVID-19 testing services to school. Students and staff are immediately eligible to begin registering for the SchoolMed program from Goodside Health.

SchoolMed empowers school nurses and facilitators to provide the right care for students, right when they need it. Goodside installs a SchoolMed Kit right in the nurse’s office. If a nurse identifies the need for additional care, the SchoolMed program provides immediate access to assess, diagnose, and treat a range of conditions through a telehealth visit with a Goodside Health provider.

“We consider this paramount to both student and staff safety in the COVID-19 era that we are living in now,” said Clarksville ISD Superintdent Dr. Kermit Ward. “This new partnership will allow us to make quick student health diagnosis and will reduce the threat of spread of airborne infections.”

SchoolMed telehealth services also provide access to COVID-19, strep, and flu testing when deemed necessary by a Goodside Health provider. All students are eligible to register for these services, and Goodside Health providers treat all students regardless of residency or insurance status. Most visits are delivered at little to not cost to families, translation services are available, and parents can be included in any visit.

“Our focus is on closing gaps in children’s healthcare at Goodside Health. With SchoolMed, we are increasing access to quality care right on campus across Clarksville ISD,” said Kevin Pearce, Goodside Health President and Co-founder. “We understand the challenges we are facing are significant. We’re excited to partner with Superintendent Ward and the community to help keep students safe at school.”

Together, Goodside Health and Clarksville ISD are meeting the unique care needs of every student in a safe, comfortable environment. To register for SchoolMed services, logon to www.goodsidehealth.com/register and select ‘Clarksville ISD’ to begin the process.
