Memorial Day, 2022 — Remember & Honor

AUSTIN, Texas — This Memorial Day, Goodside Health remembers the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We are grateful for their service and proud to honor their memory. Thank you to all veterans and current members of the military who have dedicated themselves to protecting our freedoms, especially those who are part of the Goodside team. We salute you and honor your service on this Memorial Day.

We encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the many ways that our freedom has been protected. Thank you for your service, and may we never forget the price of our freedom.

Did you know?

  • Originally known as Decoration Day, this holiday was created to honor the soldiers who lost their lives fighting for the Union in the Civil War.
  • While Memorial Day is seen as a time of somber time of remembrance for all who have died while serving in the United States Armed Forces, it is also a time to celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as Americans.
  • Throughout the United States, cemeteries are decorated with flowers, flags and wreathes.
  • The flag of the United States is often raised quickly to full mast, lowered to half-mast slowly, then raised to fly at its full height at noon on Memorial Day. Slowly lowering it to half-mast represents the soldiers who have lost their lives in the line of duty. Raising it again symbolizes the continued strength to continue to fight on, and that no life was lost in vain.

Goodside Health is proud to serve veterans, active duty, reserve, and National Guard members and their families through our SchoolMed, Urgent Care for Kids, and Virtual Care for Families offerings.
